Behind The Lens

Location

Taken at home in Adelaide Australia when I lived there. This is my landlords cat making itself at home on one of the outside dining area chairs.

Time

This was taken early evening not long after I had bought the camera and was learning how to use it.

Lighting

Only used natural light.

Equipment

Nikon D7100.

Inspiration

I was just looking to get used to my camera, I didn't even notice he was there until he pushed his paws through the bars of the chair.

Editing

Only post processing done was to slightly change the white balance and to change it to black and white.

In my camera bag

As I am mainly a landscape photographer I keep kit to a minimum to save weight. I have my camera, tripod, remote shutter release, NISI filters. Lenses consist of Nikkor 18 - 105mm, Nikkor 50mm 1.8 and a Nikkor 70 - 300mm 1.4 - 5.6.

Feedback

As with a lot of animal photographs it a case of having your camera in your hand, you never know what they are going to do or when they are going to do it.
