Behind The Lens

Location

This photo is very nostalgic for me, I sat on that playground spinner with my little sister nearly 10 years ago when we would visit our grandpa in the black Forrest Germany. Now as an adult I come back and take photos of my two little brothers spinning each other with a ringing of giggles following them. I got my first camera almost exactly a year ago at the time of writing this so I still feel like an amateur but I was lucky enough to grow up around photographers to learn a thing or two off.

Time

This was late afternoon, me and my family had decided to take the boys down to the playground to burn off some energy before wind down time began, it started to rain when we arrived so I had to have one hand holding an umbrella with the other trying to take a steady shot.

Lighting

It was overcast and not very bright that evening, which made for very even lighting.

Equipment

This was shot on a Fujifilm XE4, With a XF 27mm F2.8 Pancake lens.

Inspiration

I had just started playing around with different shutter speeds and this seemed like a perfect opportunity to try something new.

Editing

This photo came directly out of my camera as is which can shoot in different film simulations.

In my camera bag

I am backpacking around the EU at the Moment and don’t have much spare room to be lugging around gear. All I brought was the Fujifilm XE4 Body and the lens that came with it.

Feedback

This shot was mostly just a beautiful moment i wanted to snap and trying to learn more about shutter speed. I wouldn’t have much advice as I didn’t really know what I was doing myself. But slow shutter and good timing is essential.
