Last week I got caught in a rainforest under a clear blue sky.
A situation that I usually try to avoid. Because I was shooting under shade my first image came out incredibly blue, the same result as if I was using film. I held my new camera up against the forest background and set the white balance to match the colour that I was seeing by eye. This is very interesting to me and supports my thoughts that as photographers we never really photograph reality. After lunch, near this location I realised that there could be a possibility of photographing an image with the sun coming though the forest. I composed this image to get the best effect from the sun. I shot three images, one for the sun and two more with one finger in front of the lens covering the sun. The third image was exposed at 800 ISO to reduce the water movement by three stops.
